About The Event

The West Africa Mining Security Conference brings together academics, security practitioners, subject matter experts, and the mining industry to discuss strategic security trends in the region.

Once again speakers will include some of the most informed and experienced experts on the region.

DAY ONE  will focus on security challenges in the region, with an emphasis on terrorist threats in Mali, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana.

DAY TWO will examine the potential for politically motivated violence and instability during elections in Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso and Guinea in 2020, and the possible risk to mining operations.

DAY THREE consists of OPTIONAL workshops on Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and Kidnap for Ransom (KFR), which will be tailored to suit the needs of mine security professionals and managers responsible for handling KFR incidents involving their company.
